VICE | VERSA

A BOX. A WOMAN. A PANE OF GLASS.

A woman sifts through the conflicting memories of her childhood. What do we remember, what do we forget and where does the truth lie?

VICE | VERSA explores ‘truth’ as a construct, presents memory as a narrative and family history as fiction rather than fact.

VICE | VERSA was created for Sydney Fringe Festival 2017 and performed four shows in September 2017 at the HPG Festival Hub, 225 Euston Road, Alexandria. Mediated through visual and aural frameworks the work scrutinises the audience / performer relationship and provokes the viewer to question the very notion of perspective.

The devised, site-specific work is a collaborative venture of Motley Crew - a group of independent, like-minded artists with a shared curiosity of what is possible in a theatrical experience for creators, performers and audience alike. Motley Crew is Kate Rutherford, Nic English, Elia Bosshard, Kyle Jonsson, Benjamin Freeman, Alexander Berlage, Matteo Romano Bernardini, Odile Le Clezio, Oleg Pupovac and Anna McGrath
